CS138A - Oracle8i/9i Database Administration and Architecture
At Ohlone We Learn ORACLE on Linux and Windows Workstations.
This is a first course in Oracle Database Administration and Architecture. We will cover Oracle Installation and Database Setup for Lab and at home use. In this course the student learns to startup and shutdown a database, create a database, manage file and database storage, and manage users and their privileges. In addition, the student learns to organize the database and to move data into and between databases, under different environments. Hands-on practices help to reinforce key concepts, and students have an opportunity to troubleshoot real life issues. This class is preparation for study for the Oracle Database Administrator certification exam.

Text books, lab scripts and solution sets will be available to the students upon enrollment. Hard copy only of PDF files will be made available for the cost of reproduction. All Oracle Software will be available for course use include the Oracle8i and 9i Database Servers to OAI Student Members who sign the OAI Software License Agreement.
